IZ D2MCM Coworking Space for Students
All students of the social and cultural sciences and the humanities are invited to participate in the monthly Coworking Space of the Interdisciplinary Center for Digitality and Digital Methods (IZ D2MCM).
The space is a protected environment where the following digital methods can be practiced and experimented with:
- ⌨️ Coding and software development (e.g., with Python or R)
- 📊 Creating and processing research data (text, audio, image in various formats, as well as analyzing them with tools such as OpenRefine)
- 🚀 Collaboration using version control software (e.g., with Git, as well as the GitLab platform of HU Berlin)
Participants bring their own projects, questions, and perspectives into the space. To participate, you must bring your own device (e.g., laptop). 💻
Coworking means for us:
- an open space for collaborative or individual work on digital projects and tasks
- peer-to-peer exchange and networking
- a space for working methods such as pair programming, data or code review, mutual assistance, and feedback
Experimental Format:
The Coworking Spaces for students are not courses, and therefore no ECTS/credit points can be earned.
This event is intended to create an open space for students where collaborative, interdisciplinary work on digital projects is possible in a tolerant, relaxed environment characterized by mutual respect and appreciation.
We welcome suggestions and feedback on how we can adapt and expand such events for students.
Let me know if you’d like a shorter version or need help turning this into a flyer or webpage!
