What is the ECR Panel?
The Early Career Research Panel (ECR Panel) is an interdisciplinary network for master’s students and doctoral candidates at the Mitte Campus.
It brings together early-career researchers from various disciplines who are engaged with issues related to digitality and digital methods or who use digital methods in their own research.
The panel offers a space to network across disciplinary boundaries, share one’s own research and ideas, discover new perspectives, and reflect together on how research can be shaped in the digital age.
This isn’t just about finished research results: new project ideas, methodological questions, ongoing work, and challenges in everyday research can also be discussed here together.
What do we want to build together?
The ECR Panel focuses on networking, exchange, and collaborative shaping. The panel members themselves decide which topics, formats, and activities will emerge.
Possible examples include:
- informal networking meetings
- workshop discussions
- presentations of ongoing research projects
- discussions on digital methods
- writing or working groups
- joint events
Another shared goal for the panel’s future development is to organize an interdisciplinary Early Career Research Conference.
The ECR Panel is continuing to grow—and we’re looking for people who are eager to get involved and help shape the network together with others.
→ Members Wanted Would you like to meet other early-career researchers, discuss your research, and make new connections beyond the boundaries of your own discipline? As a member, you can contribute your own topics and ideas and help decide which activities and formats the panel will develop.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re already working extensively with digital methods or are just beginning to explore questions of digitality in your research.
→ Seeking Two New Co-Chairs We’re also looking for two new co-chairs who are interested in helping to further develop the ECR Panel together with its members. As a spokesperson, you’ll help to
- bring together ideas from the network,
- foster dialogue among members, and
- jointly launch the panel’s next activities.
The spokespersons give the network a face and serve as points of contact for its members.
Previous experience organizing academic networks is not required.
What matters most is interest, curiosity, and a passion for building something together.
Plenty of Room for Your Own Ideas
The ECR Panel is intended to be driven and shaped by its members. That is why there is deliberately plenty of room for your own topics, requests, and ideas.
The Interdisciplinary Center “Digitality and Digital Methods at Campus Mitte” (IZ D2MCM) acts as a project partner for the ECR Panel and provides organizational and structural support for its development.
